As Pro AV-over-IP systems become ever larger, a new class of switches has come to market. The SDVoE-ready 100G and 10G Ethernet M4500 switches combine the configurability of a matrix switch with the power and scalability of Ethernet to support hundreds of AV-over-IP endpoints, at a price point dramatically cheaper than comparable matrix switches. Layer-3 PIM-SSM routing is available but not obligatory: these new switches offer IGMP+ and greatly simplify system architectures at Layer-2 with the same well-known IGMP techniques across the entire AV-over-IP network.
M4500-48XF8C:
- The M4500-48XF8C switch provides 48-port SFP28 (1G, 10G and 25G fiber) and 8-port QSFP28 (40G, 50G and 100G fiber)
- With 4Tbps non-blocking fabric and 2Bpps forwarding rate, M4500-48XF8C delivers L2/L3/L4 and IPv4/IPv6 rich services for Professional AV-over-IP installations (SDVoE-ready certified)
- Two modular power supplies are pre-installed for 1+1 power redundancy
- Six modular fan trays are pre-installed for 4+2 fan redundancy
- Line-rate spine and leaf topologies with the M4500-32C (32-port QSFP28 100G)
- Layer 3 feature set includes static and dynamic routing with VRRP, OSPF, BGP, VRF-Lite and PIM
- Enhanced IGMP+ implementation for plug & play multicast at Layer 2 between M4300/M4500 switches
